Year 8 Faraday Challenge
This year the Faraday Challenge was being held at Queen Mary’s High School. Our Year 8 students representing Aldridge School this year were F. Milne, L. Oury, H. Lin, I. Halim, E. Banks, R. Deeley-Brewer. The challenge was set early on by the organisers to design and build an innovative idea to improve the highways. This could have included parking or road use. Our students designed an extension to existing motorway emergency laybys to include electric charging points. They budgeted and managed to build a fully working prototype including a solar light on top, which was demonstrated. After the design and build had taken place, the students had to present their idea and then face questions about what they created and how they worked together.
Another great competition and although we sadly did not win this year, our students worked well together and were a credit to the school.
