Year 5 pupils attend Aldridge School for a World Book Day Quiz

As Dr. Seuss once said: “You can find magic wherever you look.  Sit back and relax all you need is a book!” The Year 5s who attended the Aldridge School World Book Day Quiz really did come together to find the magic in books.

A dedicated group of Year 5 pupils from Blackwood, Cooper and Jordan, Leighswood, Mayfield, St Michaels, Rushall and Park Hall competed in the World Book Day Quiz.  The challenge was extremely competitive, and the ultimate winners were “The Reading Champions.”

One Year 5 pupil told staff that his favourite round was where he listened to an extract from Holes before answering some questions. Another pupil commented, “I had a great time and also made friends with students from other schools.”

The students took home some wonderful prizes, proving that a love for reading really does make you a winner!
