Year 10 In-Comm STEM Workshop
Leanne Mee delivered a STEM workshop on behalf of In-Comm to selected Year 10 students.
After a brief talk about apprenticeships and job roles available through In-Comm and their supporting companies, students were set the challenge of building a mechanical device to move as many ping pong balls 20cm within 10 seconds.
Students worked in groups of 4 to design and build a structure from K’Nex that would fit the brief before competing against the other groups.
Students were given points throughout the challenge for employability skills such as teamwork and communication that were observed, these were added to their overall ping pong ball score to reveal the winning teams.
A big thanks to Leanne Mee and In-Comm for providing such an enjoyable and valuable workshop.
