Students work with former Birmingham Poet Laureate and renowned performance poet
60 lucky students had the opportunity to work with former Birmingham Poet Laureate Richard ('Dreadlockalien') Grant and renowned performance poet Alan ('Kurly') McGeachie on a 4-week 'Memorhyme' project to improve our students' literacy skills through the use of spoken word poetry and digital platforms.
Our students produced some wonderfully creative and personal work, and 12 were selected to record their poems at Birmingham City University's state of the art studios.
Both 'Dreadlockalien' and 'Kurly' commented on how well our students engaged with the project, saying it was a pleasure to work with them over the four weeks.
