National Careers Week 2024
National Careers Week (NCW) is a week of celebrating Careers guidance in education across the UK, 04th-09th March https://nationalcareersweek.com/. The aim has always been to develop awareness, enthusiasm and excitement about students future pathways both post 16 and post 18 leading into their adult lives.
This year’s activities at Aldridge School include assemblies from the West Midlands Combined Authority and the Department for Work and Pensions on varying aspects from challenging stereotypes in the workplace to learning about apprenticeship options. Every subject area within the school will be delivering a careers activity to allow students to understand the careers you can go into based on a subject area. We will also be celebrating World Book Day with a variety of activities during form time.

You are also invited to sign up for the ‘Discover! Creative Careers’ virtual information event for parents/carers, this is not during next week for logistical reasons. This webinar will highlight the value of careers in the creative sector and will challenge some of the preconceptions that surround the creative sector. They will have 4 keynote speakers from a range of employers in the creative sector who will talk about their careers and experiences, and there will be the opportunity for parents and carers to ask our speakers any questions.
