Fabulous evening of music at Aldridge School’s Spring Concert
Last night the Music Department, Mr Turner, Mrs Dudley and Mrs Gardner led the talented students at Aldridge School in a musical feast which included pieces by Beethoven, Elgar and songs attributed to Meatloaf. The players ranged from our Sixth Form to Year 7s and included choral numbers, jazz band, solo performances, and full orchestras.
It was very well attended by families and we would like to thank them for providing a spirited audience and for supporting their children with the dedication that this level of performance requires. Each week, the students attend early morning lessons, through the dark wintery months, carrying heavy cases containing their instruments, to rehearse and perfect their skills.
The concert last night showcased the result of this tremendous commitment. Their performances were excellent, and many commented on the professionalism of the young people.
A huge thank you to our brilliant musicians and their Music teachers for a rousing evening.
