Creativity and Confidence take Centre Stage for Aldridge School Students!

Talented students from Years 8 to 12 recently participated in the prestigious “Poetry by Heart” competition, a national event celebrating the art of poetry and its performance. Students engaged in both Classic and Freestyle categories, showcasing their confidence, creativity, and passion for poetry.

The Freestyle category, which emphasises fun, creativity, and inclusivity, allowed students to perform solo, in pairs, or as a group. Whether with voice, movement, or props, their performances were a vibrant expression of poetry's power to unite and inspire.

H Kaur, School Librarian, said, “Participation in Poetry by Heart has resulted in memorable performances, and an opportunity for students to perform at the Shakespeare's Globe this summer.”

L Humphries, student from Year 9, shared, "This has been an incredible experience. It gave me the chance to express myself through poetry, and I loved how it brought us together as a school community."
