BCU STEM Day
A selection of Year 8 students spent the morning taking part in a Birmingham City University STEM Day. The students were able to get involved in coding pathways for micro robots to travel along using different colour combinations to represent commands.
Students were shown the science behind magic tricks, using gravity, magnets and how the centre of mass can be used to create illusions.
Our Year 8 pupils got to meet representatives from a host of STEM related businesses from Jaguar Land Rover, The School of Jewellery, Balfour Beatty, The Army and Millennium Point Trust amongst others. It was a great opportunity to ask questions and get involved in a range of interactive activities. The group were thoroughly engaged throughout the four sessions they attended and received great praise on their attitude and behaviour from the BCU staff.
