BCU Health Practitioners Workshop - Year 10
Aldridge students were given a talk on the wide range of occupations within the field of health, such as physiotherapy, radiography and paramedics. Then they were able to actually experience some of the equipment used to train healthcare workers. CPR dummies, stethoscopes and even a laparoscopy machine were brought in for students to use and demonstrate their skills.
Students learnt that the world of healthcare is a large one, and that there may be a suitable career for them within it. One student managed to stack five sugar cubes using the laparoscopy machine, so we may even have some budding surgeons in the future!
