Shared Values

Our Values which are shared by all pupils, staff,
Governors and stakeholders
are guided by:

Safety
The safety and well-being of everyone within our school community is of paramount importance.  We expect everyone to share in this commitment.

Respect
We are all equally important to our school and are shown respect.
Bullying, racism or any type of discrimination is never tolerated.

Communication
We encourage open and honest discussions and always listen to each other. We recognise effective communication is vital for an outstanding school.

Development
We are all encouraged to develop to our full potential and encouraged to push ourselves to break barriers to learning. We want to be the best we can be; we learn from our mistakes and our successes. We share our learning.

Honesty and Truthfulness
Everyone is encouraged to demonstrate honesty and truthfulness without fear. We all have a voice to be heard.

Acting Responsibly
We understand that we are all responsible for our actions and their consequences. We keep promises and commitments made to others.
Positive behaviour is encouraged and expected.

Trust
We are all empowered and trusted to act.
All ideas are listened to and encouraged.

Community
Our school community works together to enhance our local community.  We understand our reputation out of school is important and depends on our behaviour.

Key British Values
We will uphold and actively promote the key British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Celebration
We celebrate the successes of all.  We embrace a “can do” approach and make everyone feel valued.  We work together as a team. The House system is at the heart of our school community.

Fun
We take our work and learning seriously but we are serious about having fun, enjoying our responsibilities and balancing our life and work.

By working together on these core values we can ensure we are
“Achieving Excellence Together”

At Aldridge School students are encouraged and expected to be the best they can be and to follow the four Rs: Respectful, Responsible, Resilient and Ready to learn.

  • Respectful – A respectful student is proud to be a member of Aldridge School. They value their time at school, their education, the environment and the people around them.
  • Responsible – A responsible student is always very motivated and works well independently and in a team. They contribute to lessons and use their initiative.
  • Resilient – A resilient student is open minded in their approach to challenges and persistent when it comes to problem solving. As a result, they learn very well.
  • Ready to learn – A student who is ready to learn rarely has any time off school. They are well organised and plan their time to ensure that they are not late and that they bring the right equipment and books each day.

Our students know and understand these expectations which are reinforced in form time and assemblies as well as in individual conversations with members of staff.
