As Dr. Seuss once said: “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Dr. Seuss’ opinion of books really did apply to our Year 5 Bookworms in a recent World Book Day Quiz!
A dedicated group of Year 5 pupils from Cooper and Jordan, Whetstone, Blackwood, Mayfield, St Michaels and Park Hall competed in a World Book Day Quiz at Aldridge School. The challenge was extremely competitive, and the ultimate winners, after a hard-fought competition were “The Rolling Peaches”, inspired by Roald Dahl’s “James and the Giant Peach.”
The pupils had a great time, and really enjoyed the quiz. It gave them the opportunity to meet and socialise with pupils from other schools too. The pupils took home some wonderful prizes, proving that a love for reading really does make you a winner!
