Aldridge Students support James Brindley Charity

Aldridge School was honoured to be invited to support the totally amazing newly found charity “The James Brindley Foundation”.

Councillor Murray, a governor of Aldridge School, and his wife are completing a ‘Five Park Challenge’ in aid of the charity.  They will be running 5,000 metres within each of the 5 park runs!

The dates for the runs are:

Saturday 22nd December

Saturday 29th December

Saturday 5th January

As part of our PSHCE programme, students from years 7, 8 and 9 were invited to take part in a competition to design advertising material for the event and the charity.

As usual, the response from Aldridge School students was amazing.   Almost 200 entries were received that were all superb and it was extremely difficult to judge and choose a winner. Mrs Briggs the organiser of the completion and teacher at Aldridge School, Councillor Murray and his wife decided that they could not just choose just one winner so decided to utilise all three of the entries pictured.

Cllr. Murray said “I’m very grateful to all of the pupils who took part in the competition to design a poster to advertise the five parks charity runs which my wife and I are doing over the festive period to raise funds for the James Brindley Foundation.  The hardest task was in choosing the two eventual winners as there were so many excellent contributions. Congratulations to all those who took part”.”
