A very lucky group of our Aldridge school students have completed an eight-week Scholars Programme with a university PhD tutor. The tutor attended the school to deliver university-style tutorials, after which each student completed a final assignment of 2000 words.
The programme ended with a special Graduation Event, hosted by The University of Oxford, New College. The proud students were also treated to a tour of New College and a Q&A session with college undergraduate students. The students ended the day with the reassurance that The University of Oxford is not looking for a particular type of student. It is really about your grades and passion for the subject that you are applying to study. One student said the programme has taught her ‘resilience, time management, research methods and referencing skills which are invaluable for academic success’.
