Budding medics and midwives got the opportunity to speak with professionals and simulate medical procedures when they visited Walsall NHS Manor Hospital last week. School Careers Advisor Lorenzo Cosco linked up with the hospital for an exclusive visit for those students who had expressed their enthusiasm for a career in medicine.
The Clinical Director with responsibility for A & E explained how rewarding her job was but how hard you have to work and study to achieve success.
Midwives from the Consultant Maternity unit gave their insight into their roles and then students were introduced to the amazing mannequins that are used to simulate situations such as CPR, blood loss and childbirth.
It ended with a Q & A opportunity to consolidate the session.
